Athol Cleanup Day

Cleanup effort led by SEIU 888 Members

Members of the Athol town employees union (Local 888 SEIU) and family members took part in a clean-up effort in several areas of town Saturday morning. Led by Health Agent Phil Leger, four teams picked up trash in the downtown area (including the municipal parking lot), at Silver Lake Park and Lake Park, along Route 32 and in the areas around the South Main Street bridge and Fish Park. Roy Bros. Propane offered the use of one of its trucks. This was the first group clean-up. Leger said it is anticipated there will be two a year, one in the spring and one in the fall.
