As a member of SEIU 888 the most important thing you can do is become active in politics, and the most important way to become active is by joining the SEIU 888 COPE Club.
What is the COPE Club?
The SEIU 888 COPE Club is our local union’s dedicated political action fund and program. The funds raised through SEIU 888 COPE enable us to fight harder for the issues that we care about with increased resources earmarked specifically for politics.
Why should I contribute?
As public employee it is your duty to be actively engaged in the political process. Local 888 has laid out an aggressive legislative and political agenda. In order to win we need your involvement to become a political powerhouse.
What’s at stake?
Every year is an election year in Massachusetts. And every election gives us an opportunity to rehire or fire the boss. Our elected leaders are the ones who negotiate with us at the bargaining table. Part of SEIU 888’s strategy for success is a commitment to 100% COPE participation. Full membership participation allows us to send a strong message to management that SEIU 888 members take politics seriously.
