Local 888 Stewards are the Heart and Soul of our Union.

Stewards are workers on the job who are primarily responsible for the enforcement of the Union contract. Stewards are the leaders other members turn to when they have questions or problems on job.

Throughout the history of our Union, our Stewards have been the heart and soul of Union collective bargaining, organizing and political campaigns. Stewards are absolutely crucial in mobilizing the members. Without our Stewards, Local 888 can not be the powerful Union that our members need.

This page is intended for Union Stewards and members interested in becoming Union Stewards.  Below is a collection of tools and resources for Stewards on the job.  And as a Union Steward please remember the SEIU 888 Member Information Department is there for you and can provide you with support in contract interpretation, legal and grievnace analyses and representation. Whenever you need help with a grievance or training in a specific issue please contact the Member Information Department and a Union Attorney will respond: 617.241.3300.
