On Saturday, October 22, SEIU 888 held its annual convention in Braintree. The event was attended by members from across sectors and across the state. It also featured visits from SEIU 888 endorsed candidates and Massachusetts AFL-CIO President Steve Tolman. Importantly, the convention passed a resolution on racial justice that was previously approved by the SEIU 888 Executive Committee.
Twenty SEIU 888 endorsed candidates across Massachusetts prevailed in their preliminary election challenges on September 6, 2022.
Unions were created in the 1800’s to address the plight of workers during the Industrial Revolution. Though the landscape of industry has changed dramatically since unions’ inception, the need for unions remains crucial.
